Blessed
Lately, especially since it is Christmas, I have been feeling overwhelmed by how blessed we are! Kurtis and I have the best families in the world, we have great friends, good jobs, we have everything we could ask for and more. I love this time of year, (except maybe the mall parking lot and all of University Parkway!), I love Christmas music, Christmas lights and being with family so much. I love the opportunity we have to think about the Savior and how much he and Heavenly Father love us. I can't even express how grateful I am for the amazing gift of the atonement. I am so so so grateful for the knowledge that whenever I am completely overwhelmed and stressed about whatever it may be I can pray and I instantly feel better. Again, just so blessed. I don't think I say that I appreciate it enough. With this really big event coming up in our lives I am so grateful for everything that we have and that we are going to be blessed to have a baby girl come into our lives. I am so thankful for an amazing husband who I know is going to make an amazing father. I can't wait for the next step!

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
I realize I have been a total slacker of a blogger lately. And you know what, Im not even going to apologize. :) It is pretty crazy how busy things have been. To give you a little example...we decorated our house on December 1st for Christmas and everything got done but the decorating of the tree. Last year when we took the decorations down we noticed that half the lights on our prelit tree were out and we didn't want to deal with it then so we decided to wait until this year. Much to Kurtis's dismay it took him about 6 hours to figure out which lights needed to be replaced and restrung. He was not very happy about it but when all was said and done it look great. Now if we could just find the time to decorate the tree! Seriously, its kind of ridiculous how busy we have been. We go to work throughout the week and come home and it seems like we are immediately off to something else. Oh well, I guess that is how is goes this time of year. We are excited for Christmas and especially excited that both of our schedules for work mean we get home in the early afternoon of Christmas Eve and don't work the rest of the year! That sound so good to me! I'm about fed up with work. My feet hurt after like an hour of flying and I get cranky a lot quicker. But, that said, after talking to my doctor about how long I should and can work I am going to try to make it through most of January. Hopefully I can stick it out for 3 weeks in January. If anyone knows where we can get a money tree then I can stop working now! Yeah, I keep hoping for that but so far to no avail. :) I am so excited to have some time before this baby comes to get the nursery all ready and everything prepared. We can't wait for our little girl to be here!

We are having a baby GIRL!
WE ARE HAVING A GIRL! My 20 week ultrasound was yesterday and can I just tell you how crazy I was going waiting for it to come!? Pretty crazy! We went in yesterday about 3 and found out that our baby is a girl. We are really excited. Kurtis was hoping for a boy but is just as happy with a girl. He even admitted he kind of knew all along that it would be a girl, plus he says he gets along better with girls anyway! It was so amazing to see our little girl move on the screen. She kept putting her little hands up in front of her face. Its amazing how much she has grown just since my last ultrasound a month ago. Everything looked good, she has all the right parts in the right places so we are very grateful for that. Its amazing what they can do with technology now! After the appointment we went straight to the Baby Gap and bought the cutest little knit dress I have ever seen! I can't even express how happy and excited we are. Now, I can get working on decorating the nursery, that should keep me busy and then before we know it she will be here! It really is so crazy to think that soon we will have a little human that we are in charge of. Sometimes I still forget that this baby is going to come out soon and our lives will most likely change dramatically. We can't wait! For right now, we are getting all the sleep we can and going on some pretty cool trips (which I have been lazy about blogging about but will soon post pictures!)

Painting some walls and beautiful Fall!
So, recently I decided I wanted to do some painting in our house. Kurtis was super excited about it! :) Anyone who knows my husband very well knows that he is a perfectionist to the max! So, he wasn't thrilled with the idea but he went along with it because he loves me so much. First we took on the front wall in our living room and then when that was finished I liked it so much and was so thrilled with it that I decided I wanted to paint a wall in the kitchen the same color. Again, Kurtis was really happy about this. But, it is all done now and I love it! He does too actually! Now I just can't wait to find out what this baby is and then we can start on the nursery.
This last weekend we went to my families cabin at Fish Lake and we couldn't have picked a better weekend! It was so beautiful. I thought for sure it would be fairly cold but it was so warm, not a cloud in the sky and the colors of leaves on the mountain were amazing. We also went to Capital Reef on Saturday and that was also amazingly beautiful. We are so spoiled to have so many beautiful surroundings so close to where we live! Today we are headed to Park City for two days and apparently we will be in the snow the whole time which will be fun for a change and then we are going to Costa Rica on Sunday for our 1 year anniversary! I'll be sure to posts pics from that amazing place. Oh, and just a random side note...I felt the baby move last night for the first time and it was probably the most amazing thing I have ever felt!

Sick and tired...
So, I really don't have anything that great to blog about. I was just bored sitting here and thought I would. I have to admit too, this might not be the most positive blog I've written. Last week was a really hard week at work. I had a 4 day trip that lasted forever and I had to get up at like 3 am for 3 days in a row! I thought it would be okay because Im so tired all the time anyway that it usually isn't very hard for me to go to sleep early. Anyway, I did go to sleep early and got all the rest I could but obviously that wasn't enough. I started bleeding again Thursday and by night it was worse then its ever been. Needless to say, I was totally freaking out but knew there wasn't a lot I could do about it at 11 pm. So, I called the doctor in the morning and went in to check the heartbeat. It took the nurse like forever to find it and we heard it beat like 3 times and then we lost it again. She said we could do an ultra sound but she felt good that we at least found it. I said I trusted them and if she feels okay then I feel okay too. They said I should take it really easy all weekend and pretty much do nothing. So, thats pretty much what I did, Nothing! It was hard to just watch movies and stuff when I had a lot of things I wanted to get done but it was worth. Im doing better today and trying to decide whether or not to call in sick tomorrow of just suck it up and go to work at 6:30. Im really looking forward to the next few weeks when I should start feeling better. Oh, yesterday I tried to put some pants on and they were a bit tight. Yes, I wore them with the top button unbuttoned all day! But Kurtis and I decided to take our first prego pick so I sucked it in best I could so I could at least have my pants done up in the picture! Let me just add how thankful I am to my amazing husband. He really goes above and beyond what he should have to do for me!

First Doctors appt.
So, today we had our first doctors appointment. Although, we kind of cheated a little and got an ultrasound last Monday. Okay, I guess I should back up a little bit even though I won't go into too much detail because that part is all over now. Lets see...last weekend I got a little paranoid about some bleeding that I had been having so I called the doctors office and they had me go in a get a blood test done on Friday and again on Sunday so they could measure my hormone levels and make sure they were going up like they should. So, we got that over with and then they had us come in for an ultrasound last Monday. Everything looked really good and we even got to hear the heartbeat! It was the most amazing sound ever and made me feel so much better after I was trying not to think the worst all weekend. Then today was the official appointment. It went really well. I really liked the doctor I saw and everything looked good. We also found out why there was some bleeding going on which was really reassuring and nothing to worry about. I also got a prescription for hopefully some pills that will make this morning sickness (pretty much all day sickness for me!) at least a little better. Oh, and the doctor said that even though the ultrasound showed that I was not quite as far along as they thought I was he said it wasn't a big enough difference to change the due date. So, looks like it will be March 24th! I kinda have a feeling it will be a little later than that but who knows. Kurtis and I met on April 1st so that would be pretty funny if that is when the baby was born. Our whole life would be a joke! Okay, lame I know. Well, thats it for now.

A little surprise....
So, I can't keep it in any longer! Kurtis and I are going to have a baby!!! We are so excited! Im not very far along and I was going to try to wait to say anything until I had my first doctors appt., but anyone who knows me knows I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut. I have a doctors appt on the 17th and we are anxiously awaiting that. Until then, when we should find out a more definitive due date, the date we have is March 24th. We are so excited, a little surprised that is happened this quickly after going off birth control, but we are not complaining at all! Can you tell Im happy about this? :) I took a pregnancy test about a week and a half ago and I think I have been pretty much in shock so that has what has kept my mouth shut for this long. I have to admit, I feel like crap a lot of the time but I guess that is what happens. For someone who loves food as much as I do its kind of weird to have absolutely no appetite at all. Every time I think about any kind of food it make me want to throw up, I actually did throw up at work on the plane in the galley today! That was an adventure! But, bring on the sickness because I will have a little miracle to show for it next spring! Crazy!

Crazy, yet super fun month of July!
Oh my goodness! Okay, so I have been a slacker blogger but I do think I have a good excuse. I have slept in my own bed for 2, yes 2 nights in the entire month of July. Now, don't get me wrong, it has been a very enjoyable month but it has been a crazy one. First we went to Salina for the 4th of July with Kurtis's family which was so much fun. Seriously, if you have never done Salina fireworks (which you probably haven't!) they are the best fireworks I have ever seen! Really! Then it was back to work again for 6 days in a row (yes, my very favorite thing, working 6 days in a row!) but then it was straight up to Echo Lake in Montana. Kurtis met me at the airport on the 12th and we headed up there. It really is my most very favorite place in the whole world. I promise I will post pics soon. So, it was 4 1/2 days there then back to work for 4 days and then another 5 days in paradise. Laying on the dock in the sun, tons of time with my mom's family, and plenty of card playing. We had a great time. We didn't HAVE to do anything. Kurtis went golfing with my dad and Grandpa Fritz and I got a tan. The lake was the perfect temperature this year, it rained for the first 2 days but was beautiful after that. Now its back to real life. Still a little crazy but we will be at home a little more this month. We might have to pull out the tent and go camping one of these weekend soon! So much fun to have, so little time! Isn't work so inconvenient? :)

Back to real life and another birthday for both of us!
So, I know we have been home from our big trip for almost two weeks and I am a slacker blogger but we have been home for about 24 hours since then. We have been working none stop since we got home. Anyway, the vacation was amazing! We both just feel so lucky and blessed to have been able to have that experience! We did and saw so many amazing things. Thankfully everything worked out how we planned on our trip home (the whole 36 HOUR journey!) We even all got business class from Tokyo to LA!
Eating on Main St.
Now that we are back to real life, work is crazy like usual for the summer. Kurtis and I flew together this past week so that we could be with each other on our birthdays. Kurtis's birthday is the 18th and mine is the 19th. So, we thought we would get home from work late afternoon and his birthday and go to dinner. Well, thankfully it worked out that way, we were thinking we might be spending his birthday in Souix Falls, South Dakota! For work we were there on Tuesday night for a very short layover. We flew out the next morning at 5:30 am. About 2 minutes into our flight we had some major problems that made us land back in Souix Falls. The plane was broken for the next two days so we were stuck hanging out in S.D. until it was fixed! Not my favorite place in the country but at least we were together and they figured out the problem and fixed it so we were safe and we got home only an hour after we were supposed to.
I have the best husband ever! For my birthday we went to Park City and rode the Alpine slide and coaster and had a blast! It was the most beautiful day ever! There was not a cloud in the sky and the breeze off the mountains up in Park City was perfect. We didn't even know before we went but there was a jazz festival going on on Main St. so we had a wonderful dinner at an outside table at the Eating Establishment on Main with live jazz and amazing food! Then, as we were getting ready to leave this guy in the visitor info booth snagged us and gave us a 2 night stay at a brand new resort hotel at the Canyons for $40! We can use it whenever between now and December! So, needless to say it was such a great day! I can't believe I am 27, pretty old. My husband is even older! He turned 30 this week! I love you babe! You are wonderful!

Still in Malaysia and loving it!
So, I had a minute this morning and I thought I would write on our blog and update anyone who reads it on what an amazing vacation we are having! We are so lucky to be able to do this and it is so fun that my aunt and uncle live here so that we just get to enjoy it and didn't have to do all the work of planning everything we do. We went to Cambodia last weekend to visit Ankgor Wat. It was the most amazing, breath taking place I have ever been! I'll try to get my dad to help me post some pics from his camera so you can get a taste of what I am talking about. It was built back in the 12th century and never lost to the Cambodians but the western world didn't know about it until the 1800s when a British guy discovered it. Pictures do not even do it justice. The temples were massive and the carvings are so detailed. Plus, the place we stayed was the nicest hotel Kurtis and I have ever and probably will ever stay at in our lives! The Cambodian people are so nice and friendly and the kids are so cute I can see why Angelina Jolie picked one up when she was filming Tomb Raider!
We have had so much fun in Kuala Lumpur too. Yesterday we went on a canopy tour over the jungle and went to see Batu caves. Batu Caves are the worlds 2nd most visited site next to Mecca so that was pretty cool. The caves themselves were amazing and then the Hindus have built temple inside of them. Today I think we are doing a pool day and later on heading out to see the fireflys on a canoe down the river. Pretty exotic stuff! My only concern is that I might die of mosquito bites! I have so many it is quite ridiculous, I woke up this morning with ten fresh bites, 3 of which are on my face! I seem to be the one they like the most because no one else seems to have nearly as many as I do. But, if the bites are what I have to live with to have this experience then I think I will survive! Well, thats it for now. We only have a couple more days so we will enjoy every second of it before it is back to real life.

Malaysia
So only a week and a half before we head to Malaysia and we couldn't be more excited. We were talking yesterday about how we feel like we are kind of just going as part of the group and we have no idea what the group is gonna do once we get there. I mean Aubrey's aunt Laurie and uncle Spencer live there and are gonna take great care of us. It's just that they have some fun things planned to do over there we just don't really know exactly what or when. So when people ask what we are gonna do there we don't really have an answer. It's gonna be amazing and we can't wait to share it with you all. We will try to take tons of pics so we can document this once in a lifetime experience.
Yesterday, we helped the Fullmers, Aubrey's parents, take off the wallpaper in their bedroom and then paint. I haven't taken off a ton of wallpaper in my life, but it was actually not too bad. We rented this steamer from Home Depot, got some scrapers, and went to town. It took us about 4 hours to get it off, with a lunch break. Then we painted and now the room looks much different. It was Wendy's b-day present from last year. We finally got it done. YAY!
Mother's Day was great. We got to talk to Nate. He sounds great and it was really good to talk with him and hear about his experiences so far. Hopefully all the moms out there had an amazing day. We love and appreciate all you do!
Well, that's it for now. I need to go eat dinner. And watch America's Fattest Loser Idol, or whatever that show is called.

Spring is here! Then again maybe not...
So, I was so happy that things are turning green and the weather has been so nice and then this last weekend came! I was not a fan of how cold and rainy it was but I guess I am thankful for the moisture. I feel super bad for my friend Nancy because it was her wedding reception on Saturday and it was supposed to be outside. It turned out wonderful anyway even though they had to move it indoors. Let see what else can I talk about....I was freaking out about my crappy work schedule for next month but thankfully someone picked up the trip I had that went over the time we are going to be in Malaysia so Im super happy about that. I bought my first pair of Chacos today (awesome hiking sandals) and I am excited about them. I have wanted some for like 5 years now and I finally got the guts to spend that much on sandals. My excuse: going to Malaysia for two weeks and needed good shoes to hike around in! We are flying out on May 24th and are really getting excited about it. Kurtis and I are going to try to fit all of the things we pack in our carry-on bags to avoid checking any bags. We will see how that works...I have my doubts for two weeks in a foreign country. Especially when we have the lovely underwear that takes up so much room. :) Flying stand-by and checked luggage doesn't really go along though so hopefully we will be able to fit everything in our carry-ons! So, thats about it with us for now anyway....

A Big Trip Coming Up...
So, there really isn't too much going on in our lives. Nothing really blog worthy but I was told by a good friend or rather threatened that if I didn't update my blog she would be forced to shun me. Of course I don't want that to happen so here I am writing about nothing really. I am really excited for conference this weekend. It seems the older I get the more I count down the days till conference. I love to hear what the leaders of the church have to say to us and things I can take from their talks and improve on. I always need a good kick in the butt for what I need to do better. Next weekend Kurtis and I are going to St. George for the weekend for Nancy and Danny's wedding! That will be really fun and hopefully the weather will be nice and we can get out of freaking winter weather! Probably the biggest news for us is Kurtis and I are going to Malaysia at the end of May. My aunt and uncle are living there right now so we are tagging along with my parents and heading over there. It will take place of our Costa Rica trip we were planning for our 1st anniversary. We figured going to Malaysia and being able to stay with and be taken around by people we know who are living there is probably pretty rare so we couldn't pass it up! Hopefully everything works out okay with the flights and things since this will be our first time going foreign on stand by. If everything goes well we should get first class the whole way! Yay! Well, thats about it for us. Im sure I will write after this weekend all about my favorite parts of conference.

Rock Climbing!
So, as Kurtis said in his last post...we went rock climbing last weekend. Sorry it took a week to put these pics up but I'm slow, what can I say? My sister Meg and her husband Steve go climbing like every week at least and Steve is like Spider Man. They talked us into going with them. It was really fun. I have to admit I didn't realize how afraid of heights I was until I was half way up the wall. I kind of had a freak out. I started sweating and breathing really hard. But, I got over it. Meg was climbing by me and talked me up the wall and it got better and better every time. By the time we were done though, my muscles were shaking! It was a lot of work. Hopefully next time we go I will learn to use my legs more cause I think I pretty much pulled myself up with my arms. I don't think we will be the avid rock climbers that Meg and Steve are but we will go again for sure! So here are a couple pics from our excursion.
P.S. Can I just say how over winter I am?! We got mountain bikes for Christmas and I can't wait until it is warm and we can use them! We also got camping stuff for our wedding so I am so excited to go on road trips and use the stuff we got. Every weekend will be a new adventure when it gets warm enough!

FYI
Just so you all know, we do have some new pics coming. We went rock climbing at an indoor climbing place in Provo and we took some pics. It was rather fun. I really thought I would die because I can barely lift a bag of garbage to put it in the dumpster let alone this tubby body of mine up a wall. It was crazy that I actually did. Like 6 times! It wasn't extremely graceful or pretty, but I did it and had fun at the same time. Thanks to Steve and Meg for the great day! Well that's about it for now. I do have simulator training on Saturday and I am not really looking forward to it. It's good that we have to do it, it's just not that much fun because it's stressful. We sit and fly that thing doing all sorts of emergency training stuff for about 4 hours. I have to study for the next couple days to refresh my memory on some stuff and get up to speed on changes to procedures that have come in the last few months. Anyway, that's boring and I don't want to bore any of you with stupid pilot stuff. Hopefully we will get those pictures up soon and you can see how awesome we are at climbing. Ha ha!

Blog off anyone?
We are having a blog off!! Boys vs. girls. Whoever writes the best post on their blog wins. The readers get to vote. Now I know that most of you will vote for Aubrey, but you have to give me points just for blogging because I am a guy and it seems like most of the bloggers out there are chicks. Anyway, it was this day last year, and many years previous, that I wasn't sure if I would ever have a Valentines Day where I had someone to really share it with. Now that I do, I couldn't be happier! My beautiful wife has completely made my day today. We exchanged gifts, had breakfast together, and I am planning on making dinner tonight (dominos). Yesterday Aubrey, Meg and Wendy made gingerbread cookies to give to family so today we are gonna make the rounds with the cookies. My sisters are like freaking out because this is the first time that I have ever given them anything for V-Day. Sad but true. That's just one example of how amazing my wife is. She thinks of those things. Happy Valentines Day to you all! May all your wildest dreams come true!

The best husband ever!
Okay, so I haven't blogged in a while and my husband has been doing a lot of blogging. I thought I would just take a second to be really sappy and say how great my husband is. He really is the best. I am so blessed and lucky to have him for my husband. He does the dishes every night, he makes the bed and actually his side of the bed is probably more clean than mine is! And besides all those wonderful things that he does, he is such a good person. He is a really good Sunday School teacher to the 14 and 15 year olds, he has a wonderful testimony and he makes me want to be a better person. Okay, I think I'm done now. He was so worth the wait!

Flying is for the birds
So Aubrey and I didn't get to fly together this week. Unfortunately we don't fly together for the next two weeks either. It makes the trip go by extremely slow. It does make the saying about the heart growing fonder really feel true. So in that way, it's fun coming home and seeing her after being away. Valentines Day is coming up this next weekend and it is going to be very nice I think. I hope I live up to Aubrey's expectations. I mean, in Middle School when I had a girlfriend on V-Day it was like give a cheesy card and a box of penny candy or something and now that I am all grown up I actually have to do something special. I think we will just be spending it at home, but it will be the best V-Day I have ever had. Maybe I will even get her to kiss me! he he.

It's Sunday!!
Today, we went to church and we taught the 14 and 15 year olds with a few 13 and 16 year olds mixed in. We taught about the translation of the Book of Mormon and the lost 116 pages and the three witnesses. Aubrey also made some cupcakes for the class. It was a birthday present for one of the girls who, incidentally, was not there today. It was very nice though. We have one of the most well behaved groups of kids I think I have ever seen. Granted it's only been two weeks, but so far so good. One thing I really like about teaching this class is we get to hear each others testimonies when normally we don't just share that with each other. We really should more often but it's very special to hear that each week. I married a fantastic woman! Oh did I mention that in my last post?

A husbands rambling
So this is Kurtis and I am a blog virgin so go easy on me with your comments ok. So far Aubrey has been posting because she set this up and I haven't had access to be able to post. This is pretty cool though. I kind of like typing about random things that I can't imagine anyone really caring that much about. Aubrey is way better at this and I most likely will not be posting very often so if you are a frequent viewer of this blog, consider yourself very lucky.
As most of you know Aubrey and I were married in October. Let me just tell you how incredible it is to be her husband. It's so great! She is such an amazing woman. But enough with the sappy lovey dovey stuff. You don't want to hear that anyway.
Lately we have seen a lot of movies and done a lot of shopping and spending all our "hard" earned money. I put hard in quotes because all I do is sit around all day in an uncomfortable chair in the front of a long skinny tube. But we have been having lots of fun and we love when we get to work together. It sure seems a lot less like work when she is there. It's more like a vacation. I wish we flew to Paris and Hawaii and stuff. But we like going to Bozeman Montana. Or Butte. (That's pronounced like, well, not like butt) I am excited because I bought a new flight bag. It's nice. I need one because I am still using the one I have had since I started about 3 years ago. It was just a samsonite, or swanson, swammy, slappy, whatever kind of bag. It has holes in the bottom and I am just waiting for my charts and headset to fall out the bottom. How embarrassing would that be? Ok I am just rambling and Aubrey is telling me to stop so we can go to bed. Oh yeah we are teaching 14 and 15 year olds in sunday school now. Not sure if she already told you that. But that's why we have to go to bed. It's getting to be past our bedtime. I think it's 1015. Anyway, you are all welcome to critique my first post so I can improve them in the future. Thanks! Love ya! bye

Not sure if she already told you that. But that's why we have to go to bed. It's getting to be past our bedtime. I think it's 1015. Anyway, you are all welcome to critique my first post so I can improve them in the future. Thanks! Love ya! bye

Nothing too exciting
So, I have to say I'm a little sad no one has commented on my last post about Christmas but I'll get over it. I don't really have anything special to write about now except that I haven't blogged in a while and I want to vent about what I have to do tommorrow. I have to go to recurrent. Which means that I have to go back to flight attendant training. They make everyone go back every year. Which is good cause it refreshes your memory but Im just not too excited about it. It will be nice when it is over. But there are some pluses about it. I get to hang out with my friend Elizabeth who I haven't hung out with in a while and well... thats about the only plus. But it is a good plus! Anyway, wish me luck. And hopefully it goes well!
