What we have been up to

Its been a while since I updated my blog. I'm not a very good blogger anyway, but when your HOA cuts your internet off without notice and then the wireless on your computer totally quits working, its a little bit harder than usual to update it! So, I'm back now and I could write a really long blog about what we have been doing but... I don't really want to so I think I will just post some pics and say a few things.... One of those things being how much fun Avery is and how much I love this little girl. I'm not going to lie, 5 months is so far my favorite stage. Her little personality is coming out and she learns new things everyday. She is always a great source of entertainment! We had a great summer, which included a two week trip to the cabin in Montana. Kurtis got the full two weeks off of work so that was awesome. Avery was so funny in the water. I was worried she wouldn't like it because it was a bit chilly but she didn't mind. She didn't mind at all actually, she is so chill about everything. She just sat there in the floaty with no expression. We went to a park for Labor Day and it was the most beautiful day ever! I'm so glad we were outside. Avery loves being outside. I want more weather like that day, its been too hot lately! Well, I think thats it for now. I promise it wont take me this long again to blog. My brother Nathan gets home from his mission in 3 weeks so Im sure I will blog about that!

Laughing!

I should post more because we have done a lot of cool things recently but for right now this is all. Avery absolutely loves her daddy! He can make her laugh anytime he wants! Her first laugh was on his birthday, such a good birthday present. She is a daddy's girl already.

Birthdays and beautiful weather!

So, Kurtis's birthday is June 18th and mine is on the 19th. He turned the big 31 and I am now 28. We are both pretty old! We had a great family birthday dinner at my parents house on Friday night. We got a backpack to carry Avery in when we go hiking and since it was actually beautiful weather this past weekend we decided to test it out on Saturday. We hiked up to Stewart Fall and it was so beautiful. I have never seen the run off as big as it was and the weather was perfect for hiking. The trail is mostly shaded so that was nice. Avery loved it! She did so good all the way up to the waterfall. She loved looking around and hanging out in the backpack. The way down was a different story... She started to get hungry and I was really hoping she would hold out until we got back to the car. But, she didn't and she started fussing in the backpack and got upset so I took her out and carried her down the rest of the way. Well, while she was fussy in the backpack she must have been kicking the back of it which is mesh and not very soft and she rubbed two of her little toes raw! I felt like the worst mother ever, I didn't have socks on her and I didn't bring a bottle. When we got back to the car I was crying along with her but we eventually got her settled down (and me as well!) and went home. At least we learned some lessons for next time! Then that night Kurtis and I went to dinner while my wonderful parents stayed at our place while Avery was in bed. We both had great birthdays and Im so glad the weather was so nice!

Avery's blessing day

We got to bless Avery on Mother's Day which was pretty cool for me. She looked so beautiful! She was such a good girl during the blessing too! She just looked straight up and didn't make a peep. Kurtis gave her an amazing blessing. I am so glad to have a amazing husband who is a worthy priesthood holder and can do that. It was a beautiful day, we got so lucky with the weather. We had a bbq at my parents house after and had all of our family and some friends there. The picture in the middle is with my mom and nona. My family always has girls first and so ever since my mom was born we have taken a four generation picture. When I was little I told my grandma gregson that I was going to be the first one in the family to have 5 generations in the picture because I knew that she would still be around when I had a baby. Well, she almost made it. She past away about a month before Kurtis and I got married. But, the blanket that Im holding in the picture is one that she made for me. She said she wanted me to have it for my baby in case she wasn't around. So, in a way there are 5 generations in that picture (I am of course crying at this point while Im writing this!) Anyway, it was a great day and Kurtis and I feel so blessed to have such an amazing little soul in our family now!

1 month already!

I can't believe that Avery is a month old already. Time is going by really fast and she is chunking out! She is such a good baby! We are really lucky. Kurtis is back to flying 4 days a week and Avery and I are doing pretty good at home. We all went through a little bit of withdrawl last week but thats okay. When Kurtis got home on Thursday night he was so anxious to hold her that he was begging me to let him give her a bottle in the middle of the night. I gladly agreed. :) Im finally starting to feel back to normal. What I mean by that is, that I can have a baby and have a life too! The first couple weeks I thought "If I have to do anything before noon ever again Im screwed!" But I actually got Avery and I ready and went to 3 hours of church last Sunday at 9:30 am. I was pretty impressed. Well, I don't have much more time because she is being really good right now while I blog but Im sure she will demand my attention soon, so I'll leave with a couple pics.

Introducing Avery Lynn Glover

So, I would attempt to organize these pics but it would just frustrate me because it wouldn't turn out the way it looked in the preview anyway! So, you'll have to figure out the order. Getting Avery here was a little bit of an adventure. I was supposed to be induced on Wednesday the 31st. We had an appt. for a non stress test on Monday and then they were going to do this gel thing twice on Tuesday to help when they started me on the pit on Wednesday. So, we went to the non stress test on Monday and they decided they were going to do the gel stuff that day because her heart rate was a little up and down and they said it was a sign that the placenta was weakening. She wasn't in any danger but they decided since I was over anyway that was the best option. They kept us in the hospital till 3 when they did the first dose of the gel then we were supposed to come back at 9 that night and go home and sleep and then come back Tuesday morning at 6. When we went back that night they had changed from the gel to this pill thing and I needed it every 4 hours so we were there, in the hospital, for the long haul. When they came into check me at 2:30 I was at a 3 and the nurse broke my water on accident and I went to a 5 in like a half hour. I was thinking this was great because I would probably have her in the morning and it wouldn't even take that long! Then at 4 am I was at a 6 and stayed that way until 3:00 pm when they told me it would be best to have a c section. I knew this was always a possibilty but I really had not thought about it because I wasn't ever planning on it. I thought I was fine while the doctor was explaining it to us and then I burst into tears. Hormones going a little crazy I guess! But, I just wanted to make sure we had a healthy baby so a c section it was. Don't you love the pic of us after she was out and I have the barf bag by my head? :) Thank goodness I didn't have to use it. She was born at 3:55 pm on March 30th weighing 7 lbs 5 oz 18 in long. Screaming her head off and sucking her fist the minute she got the chance! It was so cute though, when she was screaming I guess Kurtis came in the room and started talking to her and immediately she stopped screaming and was just looking at him! So, that was it. We got home from the hospital on Saturday and had quite the first night home. She slept all day and was either eating or awake ALL NIGHT LONG! We all seriously got like a half an hour of sleep. But, last night was ten thousand times better so we are hoping for the most part things go like they did last night. She is getting bigger everyday and we love her so much. Kurtis and I both still feel like it is sureal that WE actually have a child that we are responsible for but we couldn't be happier. Im sure you will get sick of seeing pictures of her because we will be taking them all the time. My parents actually have probably taken 5000 more pictures then even we have! They are really excited to be grandparents. We are very lucky to both have amazing families that love and support us!

My AMAZING Dad and more baby stuff

So, my mom and I finished the quilt for the crib. It turned out so cute! We decided that since she really can't have a quilt in her crib for a long time anyway that we would just hang it on the wall. Its too cute not to show it off! Also, my amazing dad made us a changing table to match the crib he made for me when I was born that we are using. I never doubted of course, but it turned out so awesome! As with anything my dad makes it is super heavy and it will probably last until the millennium is over! Thanks to Steve, Kurtis and my dad for hauling it up our three flights of stairs! The nursery is completely done now and just waiting for a little someone to occupy it. We are patiently (sometimes not so much!) awaiting her arrival! I still have 6 days to go until the actual due date but I'm really hoping she will decide she wants to come sooner. Hoping but not planning on it! My doctor said he will induce me a week after my due date if she hasn't come yet so I figure April 1st is as late as it could possibly be. Kurtis and I met on April 1st two years ago so that would be kinda cool but I'm still hoping for sooner. I haven't been able to feel my fingers for about 2 weeks and my feet look like Miss Piggy's feet shoved in shoes by mid day! I'm really hoping all the water retention means I'll drop some of the baby weight quickly after she is born! Well, that is about it for now. I think I'll treat myself to a pedicure today and maybe I can get them to use the pressure points on my feet to start labor. :) I'll keep everyone updated!
