1 month already!

I can't believe that Avery is a month old already. Time is going by really fast and she is chunking out! She is such a good baby! We are really lucky. Kurtis is back to flying 4 days a week and Avery and I are doing pretty good at home. We all went through a little bit of withdrawl last week but thats okay. When Kurtis got home on Thursday night he was so anxious to hold her that he was begging me to let him give her a bottle in the middle of the night. I gladly agreed. :) Im finally starting to feel back to normal. What I mean by that is, that I can have a baby and have a life too! The first couple weeks I thought "If I have to do anything before noon ever again Im screwed!" But I actually got Avery and I ready and went to 3 hours of church last Sunday at 9:30 am. I was pretty impressed. Well, I don't have much more time because she is being really good right now while I blog but Im sure she will demand my attention soon, so I'll leave with a couple pics.

Introducing Avery Lynn Glover

So, I would attempt to organize these pics but it would just frustrate me because it wouldn't turn out the way it looked in the preview anyway! So, you'll have to figure out the order. Getting Avery here was a little bit of an adventure. I was supposed to be induced on Wednesday the 31st. We had an appt. for a non stress test on Monday and then they were going to do this gel thing twice on Tuesday to help when they started me on the pit on Wednesday. So, we went to the non stress test on Monday and they decided they were going to do the gel stuff that day because her heart rate was a little up and down and they said it was a sign that the placenta was weakening. She wasn't in any danger but they decided since I was over anyway that was the best option. They kept us in the hospital till 3 when they did the first dose of the gel then we were supposed to come back at 9 that night and go home and sleep and then come back Tuesday morning at 6. When we went back that night they had changed from the gel to this pill thing and I needed it every 4 hours so we were there, in the hospital, for the long haul. When they came into check me at 2:30 I was at a 3 and the nurse broke my water on accident and I went to a 5 in like a half hour. I was thinking this was great because I would probably have her in the morning and it wouldn't even take that long! Then at 4 am I was at a 6 and stayed that way until 3:00 pm when they told me it would be best to have a c section. I knew this was always a possibilty but I really had not thought about it because I wasn't ever planning on it. I thought I was fine while the doctor was explaining it to us and then I burst into tears. Hormones going a little crazy I guess! But, I just wanted to make sure we had a healthy baby so a c section it was. Don't you love the pic of us after she was out and I have the barf bag by my head? :) Thank goodness I didn't have to use it. She was born at 3:55 pm on March 30th weighing 7 lbs 5 oz 18 in long. Screaming her head off and sucking her fist the minute she got the chance! It was so cute though, when she was screaming I guess Kurtis came in the room and started talking to her and immediately she stopped screaming and was just looking at him! So, that was it. We got home from the hospital on Saturday and had quite the first night home. She slept all day and was either eating or awake ALL NIGHT LONG! We all seriously got like a half an hour of sleep. But, last night was ten thousand times better so we are hoping for the most part things go like they did last night. She is getting bigger everyday and we love her so much. Kurtis and I both still feel like it is sureal that WE actually have a child that we are responsible for but we couldn't be happier. Im sure you will get sick of seeing pictures of her because we will be taking them all the time. My parents actually have probably taken 5000 more pictures then even we have! They are really excited to be grandparents. We are very lucky to both have amazing families that love and support us!

My AMAZING Dad and more baby stuff

So, my mom and I finished the quilt for the crib. It turned out so cute! We decided that since she really can't have a quilt in her crib for a long time anyway that we would just hang it on the wall. Its too cute not to show it off! Also, my amazing dad made us a changing table to match the crib he made for me when I was born that we are using. I never doubted of course, but it turned out so awesome! As with anything my dad makes it is super heavy and it will probably last until the millennium is over! Thanks to Steve, Kurtis and my dad for hauling it up our three flights of stairs! The nursery is completely done now and just waiting for a little someone to occupy it. We are patiently (sometimes not so much!) awaiting her arrival! I still have 6 days to go until the actual due date but I'm really hoping she will decide she wants to come sooner. Hoping but not planning on it! My doctor said he will induce me a week after my due date if she hasn't come yet so I figure April 1st is as late as it could possibly be. Kurtis and I met on April 1st two years ago so that would be kinda cool but I'm still hoping for sooner. I haven't been able to feel my fingers for about 2 weeks and my feet look like Miss Piggy's feet shoved in shoes by mid day! I'm really hoping all the water retention means I'll drop some of the baby weight quickly after she is born! Well, that is about it for now. I think I'll treat myself to a pedicure today and maybe I can get them to use the pressure points on my feet to start labor. :) I'll keep everyone updated!

And...what now?

The first month of no work was great! I got all the sewing done for the babies room including curtains, pillows, even flowers made out of the material for the wall. I still have quite a bit of material left over. I cleaned up a storm, made meat pies with my mom and sister, even did a little shopping. Now, I don't know how this next month is going to go before the baby comes. Im now trying to come up with things that keep me busy at home so I don't go out and buy things for myself and the baby that we really don't need! I have two more baby showers so I really don't need to buy her anything. :)
Kurtis got his schedule for next month and although he didn't get any two day trips like we had hoped for, he did get 4 day trips Tuesday thru Friday that come back into Salt Lake everyday so it shouldn't be too hard to get home faster if something does happen early. I really doubt anything will happen really with this baby though. If I take after my mom they will have to force this baby to come. With all three of her kids, my mom was at least 2 weeks late. Only time will tell what my body will be like though.
Since I am bored and have nothing else to do I think I'll write about our weekend. It was a great weekend. We went to Salina on Sunday because it was Karren's (Kurtis's mom) 70th birthday. All her kids (except Kenalee, we missed you guys!) surprised her by showing up her house before church on Sunday. She was really surprised! It was great, so we had a good day down there with the fam. Then Sunday night we got a phone call and Kurtis now has an appointment to meet with the Stake President next Sunday. We know they are spliting our ward on Sunday so we are anxiously awaiting what the meeting could bring. I had to laugh a little bit because my husband is such a good person and member of the church that he volunteers himself or both of us for whatever is needed in the ward. He also has been saying a lot recently that he could never be bishop or elders quorom pres., or this or that because he doesn't have enough patience with people. I kept telling him he was asking for it by saying and doing what he was saying and doing! So, we will see what this means. In all seriousness I am so grateful for a wonderful husband who is a worthy priesthood holder and goes above and beyond what he is asked to do in the church. He is such a great example to me!
So, I think thats it for now. If anyone has any suggestions of things to make or do while Im trying to stay busy at a low cost let me know!

Valentine's Day

I had such a great weekend. Saturday night was so great. Kurtis and I went to Gloria's in Provo and had some amazing Italian for dinner ( I really, really want their recipe for the tomato cream sauce!). Then Kurtis surprised me with tickets to the Desert Star Theater. It was really funny! We saw Twi-lite. With neither one of us seeing the movies we were hoping you wouldn't have to have seen them to enjoy the show and you didn't. We both laughed really hard. Then yesterday we had a great dinner at my parents with my sister and brother in law and then came to our place for dessert and watched episodes of Modern Family ( our new favorite show). It was just a great weekend!

The countdown is on now! I guess we have 37 more days to go. Im trying to tell myself to focus on April 1st because if Im anything like my mother they will have to force this baby to come out! That would be kinda cool though if she was born on April 1st because that is the exact day Kurtis and I met two years ago. We will have to wait and see what happens. Im just hoping that Kurtis is actually in town when I go into labor. The anticipation is killing me! Patience has NEVER been one of my strong attributes. I'm pretty much done with the baby's room so now we are just waiting for her to get here!

The room is not finished yet, but its a pretty good start don't you think?! Pictures don't really do it justice, its a lot cuter in real life!

Getting ready for baby

So, I am officially done with work for a while. I was pretty proud of myself that I made it to 32 weeks. By my last week I was kinda whacking people with my belly as I walked down the asile and it was getting a little difficult to bend down and get things out of the bottom of the cart but I made it. I have a lot to do in the next two months before she gets here. Hopefully it will keep me busy so I don't go crazy. I think one of the biggest adjustments until she gets here will be just being at home everyday. It may sound weird but when you are used to flying around the country being in a different city 3 nights week it will be a little weird to sleep in my own bed every night. Especially when Kurtis will still be gone at least 3 nights a week! We are used to not seeing each other everyday, but not every single week for 4 days a week. I think I will miss him a little. :) I'm sure we will all adjust though. Right now, I'm working on the bedding for the baby's crib and getting the nursery ready. Kurtis and I went and picked the paint out on Monday so hopefully this weekend we will get it painted! I promise to post pics when we get it done. I will probably be working on the bedding today so tomorrow I will post some pics of the work in progress. I also made her a blessing dress so I will add pics of that with the bedding pics. I don't think pictures do it justice though, the dress is so cute. Its not your typical super fancy blessing dress, as my mom calls it...its shabby sheik. Well, that's it for now. You will probably be hearing a lot more from now that I don't have a job!
